John Travolta and Debra Winger star in this cowboy version. This movie is about the young boy (Bud Devis)leave his home to live with his uncle to fing the job. A young country farmer who moves to the city to find work at an oil refinery. At the first night his( uncle Bob)take him to Gilley's country-western bar, a rough-and-tumble honky-tonk in the heart of Houston. Bud is very exciting to see the new thing because he never been to bar before. In the movie you will see many cowboys comehere to drink, dance and relax after they work. Bud ask Sissy to dance and they fall in love quickly after that they get marry but their marrige is not beauty like a rose because Sissy doesn't like to clean the house and cook the meal so Bud complain her. Bud and Sissy struggle to keep their new romance alive despite the competitive attentions of a new cowboy in town. When they went to the bar Bud like to rides the club's mechnical bull and he found himself that he can did it well so he ride it many time. Sissy want to ride it but Bud not allow her to ride because he think it's too danger for her.After that Sissy go to the ber to ride the mechine bul without telling him and a bull-riding ex-convict teach her to ride, he feel attract on Sissy. Next day Bud go to the bar with Sissy to ride bull mechine but now Sissy show off that she can ride it. Bud is very upset
because Sissy is lie to him actaully he jealous her that she can do better than him so, he slap her face can thorw Sissy out from the trailer. Bud meet Sissy again in the bar but she doesn't want to talk to him so, Bud ask another woman to dance and Sissy ask another man to dance also. Bud want to make her jealous. Form that day Bud andSissy never talk each other again. Sissy feel so bad and come bck to the trailer and clean up every thing and leave her phone number but Bud's new girlfriend doesn't him so Bud thougt she clean the trailer. One day there are a competition of bull rider mechine at Gilley bar and the winner will get 5000 dollar. Of couse, Bud and Sissy's new boyfriend are join the competition and Bud is the winner. Deep down inside Bud know that he still love her so he go out to find Sissy and say apologize to her how he sorry that he hit her .Bud and Sissy come back to get together and Bud see Sissy's face was hit so he go to the bar and punch the guy who hit Sissy and then they go home .

In my opinion this movie is represent abount the modern cowboy life , they don't to ride the hourse anymore but they drive a car and go to the bar to relax themself , in the movie you will here the country song , song song I ever heard when i was young. And this movie also present about love . Both of Bud and Sissy are make mistake but they can forgive each other and get back to be together again.When you love someone you can forgive them when they make a mistake that's call true love.This movie is good.
